Gonzita’s Quest is a cascading video slot with five reels, three rows and 20 fixed paylines. Wins are awarded only three to five matching symbols on a line from left to right. You can bet from 0.10 to 40 credits per spin. The game has high volatility with a default RTP of 95.66%.
By loading the slot, Gonzita will arrive off the coast of Peru to begin her search for ancient treasures. The game window is set in the middle of the jungle against the walls of the ancient Inca temple which becomes visible every time new symbols pour onto the grid. Tribal masks dominate the reels while Gonzita is on the left to encourage you on your quest to enter the city of gold.
The payout symbols are all held on stone slabs, starting at the bottom end with depictions of creatures and mythical figures in beige, red, green, and blue, and awarding 2x to 8x your bet for a single five of a kind . More elaborate masks follow with golden ornaments in purple, brown, green and gray colors. Hit five on a line to win 15x to 125x your bet. There are no wild cards on the reels while the stone slabs marked with bet multipliers act as scatters. They can appear on all but the center coil.
Red Tiger was already in charge of updating the original Gonzo’s Quest from 2013 to Megaways, with much success I might add, and it seems they’ve also launched the challenge to release a sequel that features Gonzo’s female counterpart: wife, sister, cousin, friend – whatever it is. Let’s join the fearless heroine in her reel adventure and see what she offers.
Gonzita’s Quest has kept the 5 × 3 format with 20 paylines although the placement of the lines is the typical layout of Red Tiger Gaming. Also included is the Symbol Avalanche mechanic that shatters all winning symbols after payout before new ones fall into the blanks. The process is repeated until more wins occur after a cascade.
Watch out for scatter Stone Slabs marked with a random bet multiplier. They can land at the beginning of a spin or between avalanches. Having three or more in sight at the end of a sequence of spins will trigger the free spins which are actually more like a Hold & Win bonus game.
Any scatters that are activated are held and locked in place while Gonzita will sit gently on a golden throne positioned on the central reel. Initially, three spins are assigned and any slab with a landing bet multiplier will reset the counter to 3 before it is also locked in position. Filling a reel with sticky plates will see Gonzita pick them up in the center display. This will not only free up the reel to allow you to get more premium plates, but it will also consecutively upgrade them to gold plates and diamond plates. The difference between them is the value of the possible prizes.
Stone Slabs: Possible bet multipliers are 1x, 2x, 5x and 7x.
Gold plates: the possible bet multipliers are 10x, 25x, 50x and 75x.
Diamond plates: Possible bet multipliers are 100x, 250x, 500x and 750x.
The round ends when you run out of spins or all four reels are filled with diamond plates. According to some initial information, the maximum payout potential is 2,580 times your bet, which is roughly the same as Gonzo’s Quest.
